Meet Tzvi Silver
Tzvi’s professional journey has taken him from a front facing position in emergency shelter work, to administrative leadership in synagogue life, to classrooms and community spaces where he has taught everything from overdose reversal trainings to workshops on developing faith-based reparations projects. He brings a deep commitment to accessibility, equity, and cross-cultural connection into every space he enters.
Before rabbinical school, he worked extensively in direct service and crisis response, while also actively participating in grassroots efforts around social justice and street outreach. As an educator, he has taught in Hebrew and Torah schools across Philadelphia, and has designed adult education programs on antisemitism, reparations, Zionism and Jewish history.
He currently lives in Philadelphia, where he is pursuing ordination and teaches at multiple congregations. Across all areas of his work, he seeks to co-create Jewish practice that is transformative, grounded, and accountable to broader movements for justice.
Tzvi Silver is a rabbinical student, educator, and community organizer dedicated to building spiritually grounded, justice-driven Jewish life. He is currently pursuing rabbinic ordination at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College (Class of 2029), drawing on a background in cultural studies, Yiddish language, and long-term engagement in interfaith and mutual aid work.
