Work with Tzvi
Tzvi Silver is a life-long educator, passionate about fostering confidence, curiosity, and humility in learning environments.
Teaching & Facilitation
Tzvi is passionate about skill-building with others to understand and interrupt oppression in daily life. He brings an egalitarian ethos to his classrooms, and as a freelance educator, prioritizes the particular needs of the community.

Tzvi is a seasoned educator with experience working in groups of mixed-ideology on inflammatory topics. He is a strong facilitator of discussion between parties in disagreement, and seeks to support others in strengthening this skill.
Educational offerings include:
Early Zionist ideology, current realization
Settlements in the West Bank: why and to what effect
Antisemitism and anti-Palestinian bigotry in the US
Israel in the American Jewish zeitgeist
Defining Zionism: a primer on the topic of Israel and Palestine
He has taught on this subject for children and adults, Jews and gentiles, Americans and internationals. Tzvi hopes to foster, in American audiences, a nuanced understanding of what is often deeply misunderstood to be a religious conflict.
Courses are high-engagement, and take approximately 2 hours. They are designed for interfaith groups of adults with mixed levels of understanding on the topic. If you are seeking a guest educator for a youth group, please reach out to discuss options.

As a long-time Jewish educator and student rabbi, Tzvi has curriculum and lesson plans on hand for topics ranging from introductory material to biblical composition to Yiddish music. Tzvi occasionally offers adult educational opportunities at local synagogues, and has taught at elementary, teen, and adult levels.
For b’nai mitzvah (youth or adult!) tutoring, please reach out. Sliding scale available.

Following an incident of violence at a non-profit where he was employed, Tzvi designed and conducted a successful staff training on understanding and interrupting anti-semitism in the workplace. He has since adapted this course for wider audiences, and from a place of personal experience, offers parallel courses on interrupting gender-discrimination.
These trainings are designed to increase client-facing employees’ understanding of bias and structural violence with the goal of creating social services free of discrimination of all kinds.
Tzvi works closely with non-profits to adapt trainings to the particular needs and demographics of their staff and volunteer pools. Are there patterns emerging in your workplace that raise concerns for you? Reach out to collaborate on what solutions may be available through education and team-building work.
Rabbinical Services
As a student rabbi, Tzvi is available for lifecycle events such as weddings, baby namings, shiva minyanim, conversion and funerals. He will soon have completed a course as an accredited pastoral caregiver. For details, testimonials, or to arrange an event, reach out at the link below.
Tutoring
Tzvi offers sliding-scale services to b’nai mitzvah students, those in the conversion process, and anyone interested in developing their leyning, literacy, or liturgical skills. If you or your child would like to work with a passionate and easy-going tutor to achieve any level of ritual competency, please reach out. Tzvi’s priority is to create a safe, supportive space where students’ interest in Jewish fluency will grow.
